How to Get to Merzouga

By Car

Merzouga is about a 9-hour drive from Marrakech and a 10-hour drive from Casablanca. The route from Fes is shorter, about 7 hours. A 4x4 is recommended for the final stretch, especially if you plan to explore desert tracks.

By Bus

CTM and Supratours operate buses to Merzouga from major cities including Marrakech, Fes, and Casablanca. The journey is long but comfortable.

Best Time to Visit Merzouga

The best time to visit Merzouga is from October to April. During these months, daytime temperatures are pleasant (20-28°C) and nights are cool. Summer (June-August) brings extreme heat with temperatures exceeding 45°C. Winter nights can be cold, dropping near freezing, so bring warm layers.
