You will be picked up by our driver/guide at your Marrakech lodging to begin the 4-day desert excursion from Marrakech to Fes.

The journey to the Ait Benhaddou kasbah (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987) crosses the Tizi N’tichka pass, which is 2260 m high. En route, you will see the Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, a well-known historic structure in Morocco, and have lunch in a nearby restaurant.

The kasbah of Taourirt, a mediaeval fortified home, will be beautifully visible as we approach the town of Ouarzazate in the late afternoon. En route, we’ll stop for a photo opportunity next to the Atlas film studios and then continue into the town.

After that, you’ll spend the night in Kalaa M’gouna and Boumalne Dades. Dinner and a hotel stay are included.

Driving towards Tinghir this morning after breakfast in the hotel, passing through Boumalne du Dades and pausing for a panoramic view of the Dades valley. We will thereafter proceed via Imider and Tinghir to the Todra gorges.

You will make numerous pauses along the trip to take pictures and to take in the scenery. When you go to Todra Gorges, you can stroll through its confined valleys and take in the breathtaking Canyon scenery.

After lunch, we continue to Tinjdad and then move on to Erfoud, a city famous for producing fossils. Following that, you will continue to the magnificent Erg Chebbi Dunes, popularly known as Merzouga Dunes.

Arrive at the dunes’ edge and get ready for an hour and a half of laughter and adventure as you ride a camel to view the sunset.

You will go to the camp in silence, with just the sound of the camel’s hooffall on the sand, on the back of your dromedary, where you will spend the night in a typical nomad tent.

Before spending the night in a comfortable desert camp with all the conveniences in the middle of the desert, there will be a great dinner and entertainment around the fire (Berber drums).

Our 4-day desert excursion from Marrakech to Fes began on the third day. It is absolutely worth getting up early to view the most amazing sunrise you have ever seen from the top of a dune adjacent to the camp and take in this extraordinary scenery. A spectacular morning in the heart of the Sahara desert and a stunning sunrise when you are in a borderless location.

After a filling meal in the morning, take a shower before riding camels back to Merzouga.

Then, as a large stretch of a sandy desert where we may find the Big Dune of Morocco, we will explore the Erg Chebbi and its tiny towns. The “Paris – Dakar” route is now our route as we travel on, and it ends in the dark desert.

The following stop will be at a lookout point to consider the Erg Chebbi crater. We will next arrive in Kamilia Village, where the majority of the residents are individuals of dark skin who are originally from Mali, where we will enjoy a soothing cup of tea while we watch a concert of the Gnawa music played locally.

Stop at Mefis, a small, still-existing village, where you can explore lead and other mineral mines from the French colonial era. Then, we continue along a route where we can encounter a nomad family that lives in tents and discover their secrets and customs.

After the transfer, you will have the afternoon free to explore the town or the dunes next to the hotel to catch the sunset. Dinner and a hotel stay are included.

The largest palm grove in the nation, Tafilalet, serves as the starting point for our final day of the four-day desert trek from Marrakech to Fes in the north.

Along the 20 kilometres of route, you’ll notice a tonne of palm trees. the route to the Ziz valley, the source of the water used to irrigate this palm grove. Here, we pause and enjoy the spectacular view of the valley and the village of Aoufous from this elevated vantage point.

Date with a second stop in the city of Midelt, right in the centre of the Atlas Mountains, where you’ll have some free time for lunch and some downtime. We continue travelling through Azrou’s cedar forest in the afternoon, and if we’re lucky, we’ll come across some Barbary Apes by the side of the road.

Our next stop is the city of Ifrane, which is 1630 metres above sea level and located on the Middle Atlas’ northwest slope. This city has a Swiss-town appearance thanks to its wide avenues, excellently clean urban development, grassy areas, gardens, and architecture.

In Morocco, Ifrane senses a lack of place. Because of this, it is referred to as “the Moroccan Switzerland,” and as if that weren’t enough, it has a significant ski resort (Michlifen).
